Hp(3) vs TLD-100 for eye lens dosimetry in interventional radiology procedures: a preliminary study

چکیده

Abstract Following the 2013/59/EURATOM Directive, Italian 101/2020 Decree Law lowered annual limit on equivalent dose to eye lens from 150 20 mSv for exposed workers, in order risk of radiation-induced cataract. Such a drastic reduction makes it very important perform accurate monitoring medical staff that works with ionizing radiation as interventional radiologists and cardiologists. The standard occupational dosimetry consists into Hp(3) calibrated dosimeters placed physicians glasses, next eyes. However, this system suffers calibration issues, therefore, is usually extrapolated extremity or whole body measurements, leading low accuracy. Chips thermoluminescent TLD-100 dedicated were over plexiglas (PMMA) phantom measure Entrance Surface Air Kerma ( K e ) H physician, respectively, during simulated radiology procedures. Values all below regulatory limit. Our results show TLD-100’s response seems be correlated according relationship = F × , an average factor 3.9 mGy/mSv, opening possibility using both protection workers.

Evaluation of the Entrance Skin Dose in Animals Undergoing Diagnostic Radiology Using LiF, Mg, Ti Thermoluminescence Dosimetry (TLD-100)

Introduction According to the International Commission on Radiological Protection publication numbers 60 and 21, the environmental control standards should ensure human and other species protection to a desirable degree. Since application of radiographic procedures in Veterinary Medicine has increased significantly, in this study, we aimed to evaluate the entrance skin dose to the animals (e.g....

Improved Imaging Plate Dosimetry for X-rays in Interventional Radiology

A new method using imaging plates (IPs) to evaluate patient doses in interventional radiology (IR) procedures is developed. IPs are made of photostimulated luminescence (PSL) materials, are highly sensitive two-dimensional radiation sensors, and can be reused repeatedly. Mapping skin doses in complex fluoroscopy interventions helps determine the probability of a possible injury, helps find area...

Comprehensive TLD dosimetry of physicians and patients during interventional angiography procedures to estimate the risk of radiation deterministic effect

Introduction: Interventional angiography procedures are increasingly used today. These techniques require a long time of standing near the patient and x-ray tube which lead to increase the radiation-dose of the staff and interventionists. This may also, in turn, lead to the occurrence of radiation deterministic effects. Since a large number of interventional radiology were perf...

Investigating the potential of polymer gel dosimetry for interventional radiology. Preliminary results

Complex interventional radiology (IR) procedures contribute an increasing percentage of the overall medical radiation exposure of the population making accurate dosimetry a challenge. Magnetic resonance (MR) based polymer gel dosimetry has been widely employed in complex dosimetric problems in radiotherapy. The aim of this paper is to investigate the feasibility of normoxic gel dosimetry in IR....

Interventional Radiology: Vascular Diagnostic and Therapeutic Procedures

For the most part, a system of component coding is used in these cases, in order to accurately describe the separately identifiable surgical and imaging services performed by the radiologist. In this way, the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code structure recognizes that there can be variations in the services performed during diagnostic angiography and vascular transcatheter therapies, wh...
